Set This Road on Fire is the first single released by Chains of Delight.
Initially we planned to release it as a part of the album, however, the recording process appeared to be rather complex, long and expensive (the recording started around 2008), and we decided to publish the first song as a single.
This song was originally written by Dmitry Beloglazov almost 20 years before the release - around 1998-1999, long before Chains of Delight existence. It was a rock song with Russian lyrics which was played only once - on the high school graduation gig.
A few years later when De-Light was in its bloom this song was revived and heavily metalized. The lyrics were in English, but they were always temporary - every gig there were some new variations in the text. The final lyrics (as well as all of the guitar solos) were written only during the studio recording of the album.
Despite the significant changes this song still has this original feeling of freedom, power and speed.
